Imaginaction

Vision - Strategy - Action

The ODC has a unique method for strategic planning. It incorporates vision and strategy with practical action - it's called Imaginaction. What this does is give organisations, managers and teams a chance to explore their imaginations of what might be possible in their organisation, and come up with practical strategies to achieve it.

In Imaginaction, teams use dynamic action mapping to recreate their companies, and then explore the inter relationships between divisions and the environment they are managing in, including stakeholders and clients.

Imaginaction lifts people out of their usual way of thinking and enables them to enter their imagination of what might be. Imaginaction is useful for a number of business dilemmas: reshaping organisation culture, exploring new business environments, or refocusing the business - you can map and test strategies. Participants discover what is needed to make a well functioning whole, and participants' speculate on radical 'what if' scenarios, and encounter perspectives of peers, staff and clients.

Dynamic action mapping and the Imaginaction processes enable participants to explore their thinking, feeling and action in developing alternative perspectives. It helps air the tensions and conflicts to current and future issues influencing their business and relationships. Participants learn to use systems perspectives to comprehend the changes in their business and organisations, and become more responsive to the complexity of the problems they are working with.

This analysis enables the team to determine their focus of business attention and the strategies needed to implement these.

By tapping into their spontaneity and imaginations; participants bring forward their vitality, imagination, originality, flexibility and creativity-and find new solutions to complex problems.
