Action Learning Groups

The aims of Action Learning Group’s are to:

1.       Provide peer support and challenge in the context of leadership development

2.      Work collaboratively on current leadership interests and concerns experienced by

          participants

3.      Assist each other to build on the strengths and fill the gaps identified

in feedback and subsequent individual development plans

4.       Learn from each other about leading in different sectors or business groups

5.       Provide a forum for reflection and individual growth and

          development

6.       Develop and expand relationship networks amongst peers

Diana’s approach to facilitating Action Learning Groups is to work to develop the relationships between participants, facilitating greater authenticity and interpersonal connection. She does this using sociometry and group-work. This means the content of discussions is the participants’ experience of leading and leadership. Each session has a simple format enabling participants to create their working agenda each session.

Participants each have learning goals for the Action Learning Group. These align with their individual development plan generated from extensive feedback and profiling of participants strengths and weaknesses.

Diana’s facilitation is based on values of authenticity, self-paced learning, encounter, response rather than ‘feedback’, and here and now learning. She uses role theory as her framework for observing new behaviours developing amongst the individuals and within their relationships.
